Near Field Magnetics, Inc. has received a Canadian patent for its unified, hands-free access control system. The system has users carry a single Personal Access Key (PAK) that allows access at garage gates and personnel doors without out any manipulation by the user. The PAK fits conveniently on a key chain or lanyard and operates at tunable distances of up to 15 feet. The system also incorporates security features that vastly improve facility security relative to existing systems. Patents on this system are also held in the United States and Korea.
